INFRASTRUCTURE CREATES CONTENT
When a service fails, the world should answer.
The World Cell specification expanded into a functional infrastructure layer covering communications, surveillance, power, transport, water and security. A hybrid enum-and-value data model and the Junction Checkpoint 17 reference scenario connected service failures to missions, faction responses and local behaviour. No new executable build or Quest performance test was recorded.
Updated the World Continuity GDD to v0.3 with a functional infrastructure layer.
Defined infrastructure types and operational states as enums, with condition, capacity or effectiveness held as numeric values.
Connected failures to investigation, repair, sabotage, ambush and security-response content.
Developed Junction Checkpoint 17 as the first reference scenario.
Investigated Reaper for future audio work.
Infrastructure now acts as a gameplay generator rather than background decoration.
Enums, thresholds and dependency rules were not finalised. Repairable, temporarily disabled and permanently destroyed states still need separation. Generated content needs repetition safeguards.
A small set of explicit service dependencies can produce readable consequences without requiring a heavy universal simulation.
Junction Checkpoint 17 loses its HQ link when communications fail, creating a grounded investigation-and-restoration encounter.
Complete the dependency matrix, formalise Junction Checkpoint 17 and prototype the system with lightweight variables suitable for Quest 2 and Quest 3.
